WORLD IMPORTANCE
MEGAPUERTO (HUB PORT) SAN LORENZO ISLAND

San Lorenzo Island - Callao - Peru, has a
privileged geo strategic location in the central part of South America. The
execution of this HUB PORT, will concentrate and re-distribute the cargo of
South American countries toward and from the Pacific and Atlantic basins
through the Bi-oceanic Corridors.

Exists an immense market that generates an enormous maritime cargo traffic in both ways among the countries of the Pacific and Atlantic basins and South America that it is necessary to assist with economy of scale concepts, using big ships in order to concentrate the cargo of that traffic on a Peruvian Hub Port and to redistribute them from there in a multimodal form. In accordance with the statistics of the Economic Commission for Latin America ECLAC, the cargo registered in the year 1,998 are 866 million tons of import and export, being considered for a future Peruvian Hub Port in 2,012, that movement of cargo considering a annual rate averages 3.33% of growth it will be bigger to 1,316 million tons, of which 15% could be captured for the Hub Port, that is 197 million tons. |
THOSE FLEETS OF SHIPS FOR THE PRESENT DECADE

The Lloyd´s Register of Shipping, world leader in classification of
ships since 1,760, are informing about ships evolution that with the
economy scale concept, every time are bigger, appearing the Ultra Large
Container Ships ULCS or Ultra Post Panamax that at the end of this decade
the ships will reach dimensions of 381 mts. length, 57 mts. beam and 29
mts. draft, those require wide and deep ports, as the future Hub Port San
Lorenzo Island - Callao. |
